Editor’s Note: This review was originally published during my adolescence. Outdated language might be seen  in these old posts. Since then, my thoughts and values have grown. This review is being presented as they were originally written, grammatical errors and typos and all. Because to do otherwise would be that same as claiming these flaws has never existed.

BACKSTORY: N/A

STORYLINE: Doug Harris (Josh Gad) is a lovable but socially awkward groom-to-be with a problem: he has no best man. With less than two weeks to go until he marries the girl of his dreams (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting), Doug is referred to Jimmy Callahan (Kevin Hart), owner and CEO of Best Man, Inc., a company that provides flattering best men for socially challenged guys in need. What ensues is a hilarious wedding charade as they try to pull off the big con, and an unexpected budding bromance between Doug and his fake best man Jimmy.

REVIEW: It feels like for the Wedding Ringer being Hart's first R rated leading man role. He has more of an opportunity to say the comedic things he says in his stand up shows which feels so funny and natural. When he is put with Josh Gad, they have a lot of on screen chemistry. The huge problem of the film is that the movie feels as if it had 2 separate mind set writers. One was writing a funny and smart screenplay that wanted to have a good explanation in it's absurd plot, but the other was a guy who was rejected of writing a stupid Adam Sandler movie. It doesn't mix well in this film, because it has smartly written dialogue, but at the same time has bad comical violent and sexual scenes. The women are nothing  but the average buddy comedy type characters, and everybody else has a dumb comedical moment that is only eh funny.

LAST STATEMENT: Though it benefits from Hart and Gad's presence and their dialogue, The Wedding Ringer is a 50-50 laugh out loud comedy that has a lot of bad WTF moments.
