Editor’s Note: This review was originally published during my adolescence. Outdated language might be seen in these old posts. Since then, my thoughts and values have grown. This review is being presented as they were originally written, grammatical errors, shitty sentence structure, and typos galore. Because to do otherwise would be that same as claiming these flaws never existed.
BACKSTORY: N/A
STORYLINE: When millionaire James King is nailed for fraud and bound for San Quentin, he turns to Darnell Lewis to prep him to go behind bars.
REVIEW: Get Hard is offensive, racist, and just grotesque with its juvenile humor. As offensive it is, the film manages to make laugh hard almost every 3-5 minutes. This review doesn't even need to say much. I'm not gonna try hard as much this film didn't try had. It's the same Will Ferrell schtick but more gross out and retarded and Kevin Hart is playing the small black straight man. The film's humor is funny most of the time, but then it gets sitcomish for a while. There's several plot points that makes no sense, but if you turn off your brain you'll have a good time.
LAST STATEMENT: Get Hard is like having that friend who makes those crude bad jokes but every now and then gets you laughing hard that stick with you for a day.
