Editor’s Note: This review was originally published during my adolescence. Outdated language might be seen in these old posts. Since then, my thoughts and values have grown. This review is being presented as they were originally written, grammatical errors, shitty sentence structure, and typos galore. Because to do otherwise would be that same as claiming these flaws never existed.
BACKSTORY: N/A
STORYLINE: Twenty two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a full functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re spark visitor's interest, which backfires horribly.
REVIEW: Everybody loves Jurassic Park. I thoroughly enjoyed it not saying loved it, because as smart and intelligent it is. It was a horror movie that manages to be for a young demographic with fun characters doing cool yet stupid stuff. Jurassic World is really, just a rehash of the first film with great CG updates, inventive and creative set pieces of the amusement parks and really fun pacing. There is barely any character in this film, every person is stereotypes. We got the corporate lady whose irresponsible to her nephews, the kids who one is more annoying than the other, the nerd control guy, the asshole navy guy, and the badass Chris Pratt. If you can overlook all these lazy characterization and appreciate just the intensity of the action and Dino fights, this movie is enjoyable. The movie doesn't stop to give smart humorous moments, where even the deaths are unintentionally funny. Seriously every time somebody died, I just kept bursting laughing hard. The movie is seriously a game of you're fucked and it's predictable to see who dies and who lives.
3D: The 3D in this is used decently. You get 3D dino heads in your face and the last 30 minutes in 3D is spectacular. There are scenes where it gets too dark with the glasses, but majority of it is used well.
LAST STATEMENT: As dumb and unoriginal as it is, Jurassic World is a fun 3D ride with great action scenes, brilliant CG, and inventive set pieces.
